Not just our clients, but ANY couple, even those couples who chose not to book as as their wedding photographers.
Insanity?
Not really…
Here’s why.
Great photography doesn’t happen by chance. It takes time to discover a clients ‘good’ side and it takes time to coach them into being comfortable in front of the camera.
We all have a ‘camera face’ …. The cheesy grin we put on whenever a camera is pointed in our direction. (Actually, sometimes it’s less of a grin and more of a wince)
It takes time to coach clients into substituting the ‘camera face’ for the natural face.
Think how you are with a complete stranger.
Different to the way you are with a close friend, right?
Well, I aim to ensure that your wedding pictures make you look like you do in the company of a good friend. Your natural look. This means I have to build up some form of rapport and this is why I insist on engagement shoots for all my clients.
Think of it another way… A great actor wouldn’t dream of going on stage without a rehearsal so why would a bride and groom expect to go in front of a camera for the first time and look great on the day itself without some initial preparation?
Now we know how important these shoots are and why I provide them for all my clients, the question is, why am I offering these free shoots even to those clients who haven’t booked me for their wedding? Isn’t this madness?
Simply, I have many years of experience photographing couples in a beautiful and relaxed way and I know that if clients love what they see and experience they’re much more likely to book me as their wedding photographer.
Method in the madness.
If you’re still not convinced that an engagement shoot is vital for great wedding pictures, take a look at any of the thousands of pictures on this website and see if any of the couples look uncomfortable in front of the camera. Do any of them look anything other than perfectly relaxed? This isn’t just luck and neither is it just good photography.
It’s teamwork that comes from building a great relationship.
You can pay less on wedding photography but can you really be sure that the pictures will be as beautiful as you are?
